Saturday 20th July - 10-12 noon - Kids Messy Museum - Make your own Pictish Stone – Play with clay and create your own carving. Based on the Abernethy Stones, or use your imagination. Thursday 25th of July 6.30pm to 8.30pm, - Herbal Bath Bags (Book via Eventbrite preferred, or at the Museum in-person) - Harvest herbs from our garden to create your own luxurious blend. Saturday and Sunday 14th and 15th September - 1-4pm - Door Open Days.
The 2024 shared theme is Heritage of Routes, Networks and Connections. Our volunteer gardener Cath will be in our monastic garden talking about the uses and origins of our medicinal plants, and how they might have arrived in Abernethy.
This weekend we will also launch our new Village Walk leaflet offering visitors the opportunity to use their smartphone to view some of our collection of old photographs as they walk round the village in a Pictorial walk around Old Abernethy.

Saturday 28th September - 2.30pm - ‘Read All About It: preserving the Perth & Kinross newspaper collection for future generations’ - Craig Statham (venue to be confirmed)
Perth & Kinross Local & Family History Service holds a large collection of historic local newspapers, dating from the early nineteenth century to the present day. The collection is located in AK Bell Library, Perth, and supports a wide range of research interests.
In this talk, Local History Officer, Craig Statham, will introduce you to the collection, and discuss the history of our local newspapers and the fascinating variety of information you can find in them. He will also describe a recent project to catalogue the collection and plans for their conservation and digitisation in the future.
