Memorial erected to the three women of Abernethy executed as witches

Today saw the culmination of of our project to remember the three women of Abernethy executed as witches in 1662. The quarrymen and stonecarver, David McGovern, delivered the stone to the Williamson Hall this morning and carefully raised it to standing as a permanent memorial to three women wronged, as many more were, during the peak of the Scottish witch hunts.

A dedication ceremony will be held on 4th of October.
